Christmas Extravaganza 2024

On Saturday, December 21, 2024, one of Brevard County’s largest community festivals took place—Christmas Extravaganza, organized by The House Church in Palm Bay. We were proud to be part of this wonderful event, joining some of our vendors to bring excitement and festive spirit to this special celebration for our community.
Special Recognition Plaques

On December 6, 2024, special recognition plaques were presented to Loris Guerrero, Office Manager of Thrifty Palm Bay and Cocina Café locations, as well as to Pabel Soto, Manager and Partner of Cocina Café Restaurant. They were selected as Grand Marshals of the annual Palm Bay City Christmas Parade, held on Saturday, December 7, where we proudly participated with our festive floats.
Loris Guerrero:
We are proud to introduce Loris Guerrero as one of this year’s Grand Marshals! Loris joined the THRIFTY family in 2014 after relocating from New York in pursuit of new opportunities and a fresh start. Since then, she has played a vital role in our company’s growth, showcasing her ability to handle multiple tasks with precision while staying focused on her responsibilities.
Loris is also a proud Army veteran, and we are deeply honored to have her on our team. Her dedication, resilience, and service-minded approach embody the values we hold dear. Today, Loris serves as one of our office managers, leading the way at our Palm Bay location.
We are grateful for Loris’s contributions to our success and look forward to her continued growth with us. Thank you, Loris, for being an essential part of the THRIFTY family—and thank you for your service to our country!
Pabel Soto:
We are thrilled to announce Pabel Soto as this year’s Grand Marshal for the holiday parade! Pabel joined our team in 2012, and over the years, he has become a cornerstone of our organization. His dedication, leadership, and exceptional work ethic have allowed him to excel in every department he has touched.
Through his hard work and unwavering commitment, Pabel has achieved the distinguished role of Managing Partner for our brand-new Cocina Café. Beyond his professional achievements, Pabel is a devoted family man who exemplifies the values of perseverance, community, and kindness.
We are proud to celebrate Pabel’s incredible journey and the positive impact he continues to make on our team. Please join us in honoring Pabel Soto as this year’s Grand Marshal!
Swearing-in Ceremony of the New Board of Directors of the Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce

On December 4, 2024, we had the honor of attending the swearing-in ceremony for the new Board of Directors of the Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce, an organization we are proud to be a part of. It was a privilege to witness this important milestone and show our support for the Chamber’s continued growth and leadership in the community.
Sheriff / Reverse Christmas Parade

Throughout the month of November, we collected toy donations at Thrifty Palm Bay and Rockledge locations, as well as at Cocina Café on Malabar Rd in Palm Bay. These donations were distributed during the “Reverse Christmas Parade” organized by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, which took place on Monday, December 2, 2024.
National Supermarkets Association (NSA) Annual Gala

On Saturday, November 23, 2024, we had the pleasure of joining fellow supermarket industry professionals from across Florida at the Annual Gala of the National Supermarket Association. It was a fantastic evening of networking, celebration, and recognition within our industry.

Back-to-School Event at Endeavour Elementary School

Endeavour Elementary’s back-to-school fair, in partnership with Florida Blue, provided students and families with school supplies and helpful resources. The event marked a spirited start to the 2024-2025 school year, fostering excitement and support for the community.
State of Schools

The “State of Schools” event, hosted by the Cocoa Beach Chamber of Commerce, discussed the latest in education across Brevard County. Educators, parents, and business leaders gathered to celebrate academic achievements and explore how education shapes the county’s future.
2nd Anniversary of Thrifty Rockledge

Thrifty Specialty Produce & Meats celebrated its Rockledge location’s 2nd anniversary with local officials, friends, and customers. The event featured giveaways, tastings, and special offers, with energy brought by Jenny Castillo, DJ Franchy, and Rumba 100.3 FM. It was a day of fun and community appreciation.
1st Anniversary of Cocina Café Restaurant – July 13, 2024

We celebrated Cocina Café’s 1st anniversary with a Latin-Caribbean-themed event filled with joy, giveaways, and delicious food. Jenny Castillo and Rumba 100.3 FM’s promotions team made the celebration extra special, alongside friends, family, and Palm Bay officials, as we thanked our loyal customers.
16th Annual Mayor’s Breakfast

Hosted by the Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce, the 16th Annual Mayor’s Breakfast featured updates from all 16 Brevard County mayors on regional plans, with Sheriff Wayne Ivey as the master of ceremonies. Business leaders and government officials gathered to discuss the future of the county and strengthen community ties.
The Children’s Hunger Project Team Packing Event:

Some of our awesome Thrifty team volunteered with The Children’s Hunger Project of Brevard. This organization works with schools around the community to ensure kids have meals available during the weekends. It was our honor to take part in creating boxes for families and we want to thank them for all they do. We will continue working hard to leave our mark in our community.
